St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Cook for our Edgewood, KY hospital.

Shift/Hours:

Full Time - 30 hours/week, 2nd Shift

Responsibilities:
  1. Preparation: Estimate servings, obtain ingredients from storage, convert recipes, wash, peel, cut, and prepare raw ingredients. Use proper knife skills and set up stations to meet service times. Demonstrate organization and multi-tasking abilities.
  2. Production: Utilize basic cooking techniques such as sautéing, grilling, baking, steaming, poaching, microwaving, etc., to produce recipes. Season and cook food according to recipes or experience, and determine doneness using tasting, timing, or internal temperature measurements.
  3. Service: Read and prepare food orders accurately and timely. Portion, arrange, and garnish food properly. Support team production to meet service needs. Maintain professionalism during busy periods and emergencies.
  4. Kitchen Safety: Monitor equipment for defects or misuse, report maintenance needs, and maintain equipment for safe use.
  5. Food Safety: Monitor food temperatures, label, date, rotate, and store food according to policy. Handle ready-to-eat items with knowledge of safe service practices, considering cross-contamination, allergens, and time/temperature sensitivities.
  6. Cleanliness: Keep work areas clean and sanitary, including equipment, storage, and surfaces.
  7. Quality: Comply with all safety, sanitation, and security standards. Participate in performance improvement activities.
  8. Other duties as assigned.
