Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Bay 9 Holdings LLC dba Edgemere located in Dallas, Texas. The Cook is responsible for the preparation of all food items served to residents and guests. The Cook prepares food items following approved recipes ensuring the quality, temperature and appearance of food meets culinary standards.

Compensation & Benefits:

Responsibilities:

• Prepare all food items per menu requirements following designated recipes.
• Prepare plates and garnish food items to be served to residents and guests.
• Prepare food production to coordinate with meal service hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved.
• Ensure food safety meets State and local standards by monitoring food temperatures and using proper food storage techniques.
• Maintain work area in a safe and sanitary condition may include cleaning cooking equipment, and other areas of the kitchen as assigned.
• Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
• Encourage cooperative and consistent levels of communication with kitchen staff, front-end staff, and management.
• Must understand instructions, read written company memorandums, and communicate with little or no additional direction.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.

Requirements:

• No educational requirement. Must have ability to perform basic arithmetic, understand measurements, and follow written and oral instructions.
• One year of experience as a prep cook or similar position
• Food Handler certification obtained within 60 days of hire as required by state guidelines if state certification program exists.
