Job summary

Wells-Nursing-Home, Inc. is inviting applicants for an Evening Shift Dietary Assistant to support meal preparation, portion control, and coordinated dietary services in a care facility setting.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, up to 50 pounds lifting, and 1 year of dietary experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a secure work environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• 1 year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Review menu prior to preparation of food.
• Assist in planning regular and special diet menus in accordance with sanitary regulations.
• Assist in establishing food service production to assure meals are prepared on time.
• Prepare meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Prepare food in accordance with recipes and special diets.
• Prepare substitute foods.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Coordinate dietary services with other departments as necessary.
• Assist in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc.
• Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
• Make sure that all food items are properly stored, covered and dated in all refrigerators.
• Ensure that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment are maintained.
• Assist maintain food storage areas in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times.
• Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the FSD or designee.
