Job summary

Auburn-Rehabilitation- in Auburn, NY is seeking a dedicated dietary staff member for a full-time day shift. The role focuses on planning and preparing meals, ensuring sanitary preparation, coordinating with departments, and maintaining kitchen safety.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year of dietary experience in hospital or skilled nursing care. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work with a team to deliver timely, appetizing meals.

Qualifications

• 1 year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred but not required with experience in the following areas: Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.

Responsibilities

• Review menu prior to preparation of food.
• Assist in planning regular and special diet menus in accordance with sanitary regulations
• Assist in establishing food service production to assure that meals are prepared on time
• Prepare meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
• Prepare food in accordance with recipes and special diets
• Prepare substitute foods
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
• Coordinate dietary services with other departments as necessary
• Assist in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc. as necessary
• Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available
• Make sure that all food items are properly stored, covered and dated in all refrigerators in the kitchen, remove out dated food items in accordance to the policies & procedures of the department.
• Ensure that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment are maintained
• Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the FSD or designee.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
