Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Charleston Point Job Corps Center in Charleston, WV, where staff prepare and cook meals for students in compliance with government and management directives.

You will be responsible for preparing meals, maintaining safe and sanitary kitchen conditions, and contributing to a positive, supportive workplace. MTC offers competitive benefits and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a current ServSafe certification or within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vegetables, salads, meats, bread and desserts as instructed and routinely set forth in an appetizing, eye-appealing meal.
• Prepare meats for cooking by washing, trimming, boning, cutting, cubing or forming into patties or loaves.
• Cook or bake items which require minimum preparation.
• Replenishing napkin dispensers, plate racks, silverware racks, salt and pepper shakers and condiments.
• Make coffee, tea and other beverages and set up cafeteria lines and serve meals on the line.
• Assist in the storage and inventory of supplies; transfer food ingredients from storage area to cooking area. Clean food service area, tables and kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition, and ensure the work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.

Schedule – Varies Full Time, 8hr shifts - 10:30 am to 7:30 pm.
