Job summary

Management & Training Corporation is seeking a student in the Culinary Arts program to assist cooks with meal preparation and related duties. The role requires reliability, willingness to work evenings and some weekends, and compliance with government and company guidelines.

The position pays $20.15 per hour and is part of a student work-learning program through Job Corps. Applicants must meet age and enrollment requirements and be currently enrolled at a Job Corps Center.

Qualifications

• Must be a completer and ready for work-based learning.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be a current Job Corps Center Student enrolled in the Culinary Arts program (preferred).
• Qualified students will have their student card.

• Assist the cooks in preparation of student meals.
• Perform clean‑up and sanitation in prep, storage and dish areas.
• Provide adequate supply of food and transfer ingredients to cooking area.
• Support student snack bar, clean outside area and other duties in the Admin Building.

Job Description

Reports to the food services supervisor or designee. Assists the cooks and cook helpers in preparation of student meals in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential Functions

• Perform clean‑up and sanitation duties in the food preparation, storage and dish room areas to ensure adequate health standards at all times.
• Provide adequate supply of food and transfer merchandise ingredients to cooking area as instructed by the cook or designee.
• Student snack bar, clean outside area and other duties as assigned in the Admin Building.

Must be reliable and willing to work evenings and some weekends.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Must be a completer and ready for work-based learning.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be a current Job Corps Center Student currently enrolled in the Culinary Arts program, preferred.
• Qualified students will, at a minimum, have their student card.
