Job summary

The Courtyard Café in Brecksville, OH, is hiring a Line Cook for a scratch-kitchen in a full-service restaurant and bar operating 11am–9pm Mon–Thu and 11am–10pm Fri–Sat. No breakfast service. Immediate start.

Must have knife skills, food safety knowledge, and proficiency with kitchen equipment; strong teamwork, communication, and pace in a fast kitchen. Applicants with 1–2 years’ line cook experience are encouraged; HS diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of line cook or similar experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Excellent knife skills and knowledge of food safety.
• Proficiency with kitchen equipment; attention to detail in fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other methods to specified recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements.
• Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
• Work as a team member with strong communication and organizational skills.

Now hiring, Line Cook position open to work 7:30a-3p or 2 pm to close, no late hours, up to 5 shifts per week available with benefits available. Will start immediately. Line cooks require excellent knife skills, knowledge of food safety, and proficiency with kitchen equipment, and soft skills, like strong communication, teamwork, organizational ability, speed, stamina, and attention to detail to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Line Cook Qualifications/Skills:

• Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.

• Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook preferred but not mandatory
• Experience with various cooking methods and procedures
• Familiar with industry best practices

Applicants with high volume or casual dining line cook experience preferred. Grill experience a plus but not required. Must be a team player.
