Description

The Bungalows at Riverchase is seeking Cooks to join their team! The Cook reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director.

Shift Details

Mon-Fri; Every other weekend required, variable as requested.

Purpose

The Cook is responsible for all food preparation to ensure food meets quality, quantity, and service standards for the community. Responsible for managing food production in the absence of the Lead Cook or Food and Beverage Director, handling all foods according to sanitary procedures and standards, and complying with all regulations.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals, maintain sanitation, keep accurate records, and manage inventory.
• Follow posted menus and standardized recipes, prepare food timely.
• Handle special dietary needs and texture-modified foods as directed.
• Organize work to meet production and service requirements.
• Monitor food quality, temperature, taste, and presentation.
• Maintain sanitary conditions and operate dishwashing equipment according to standards.

Record Keeping and Resident Services

• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Review Resident Diet Book and related documentation.
• Record temperatures, production quantities, and taste evaluations manually.
• Rotate menus and production sheets.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Culinary training preferred.
• At least 1 year experience in food preparation, menu items, and therapeutic diets.
• Current SERV Safe certification or ability to obtain it.
