Job summary

Mental Health America of South Central Kansas seeks a dynamic Chief Operating Officer to lead strategic planning, program development, and operational excellence. The role ensures services align with our mission, drive high-quality care, and respond to community needs.

The COO will supervise senior and clinical leaders, partner with HR on staffing, and work with the President/CEO, CFO, and CPO on budgets and performance metrics to sustain services and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or mental-health field required; QMHP qualifications preferred.
• Minimum of five years working with individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness.
• Demonstrated senior leadership, program management, and staff-development skills.
• Knowledge of quality assurance, compliance, continuous improvement, and accreditation standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration with leaders, Boards, funders, and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Leads strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs to align with the organization's mission and priorities.
• Advises President/CEO on service operations, risk, policy, and major organizational initiatives.
• Establishes goals, policies, and procedures for services and operational functions.
• Oversees quality, compliance, risk management, and accreditation readiness.
• Represents the organization in boards, coalitions, and with funders and community partners.
