Job summary

OnTrac is hiring a Maintenance Technician II – Conveyor Systems in Chicago. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues, and repairing conveyors to reduce downtime.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with 1 year of related experience; welding and fabrication are a plus. Typical schedule is Wednesday through Saturday from 2:00pm to 12:30am, with potential overtime and shift differentials.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; technical degree preferred.
1 year of related experience in industrial maintenance or conveyors.
Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Experience in 24/7 operation maintenance.
Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
Knowledge of LOTO, OSHA, PM programs, and safe electrical practices.
Ability to lift 60 pounds routinely.
Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

Ensure proper operation of conveyor systems and material handling equipment, responding to breakdowns.
Maintain and provide routine preventive maintenance to conveyors.
Change and repair parts; rebuild and align equipment.
Use illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operation manuals in repairs.
Conduct housekeeping and area clean-up; perform daily inspections.
May be called in after hours to ensure optimum capacity.
Maintain a safe work environment per safety program policies.
Work independently or with team within OnTrac maintenance group.
