Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking a Field Service Technician II to perform on-site installation, splicing, and preventative maintenance of conveyor belts and related mechanical equipment. You will diagnose issues, replace components, and support customers at their sites.

The role requires technical acumen with conveyors, basic electrical knowledge, and ability to lift heavy objects. Effective communication with customers and teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a technical degree and 0 to 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• MSHA Experienced Miner Surface AND Underground certification highly preferred.
• 1+ year of experience working belt line in mining/aggregate or related industry preferred.
• Forklift / telehandler certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site belt installation, splicing, preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Repair heavyweight conveyor belt using methods like vulcanizing and mechanical splices.
• Set up, tear down, and maintain support structures.
• Grease and change rollers as needed.
• Install and repair industrial electrical components (motors, gears, pulleys, panels).
• Operate telehandlers, forklifts, and/or manlifts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to guide procedures.
• Provide frontline customer service and direct inquiries to appropriate personnel.
