Job summary

Hickman's Family Farms in Tonopah, AZ is seeking an experienced Barn Maintenance Technician to ensure the efficient operation and upkeep of chicken barn facilities. The role focuses on equipment maintenance and conveyor belt systems, with emphasis on cleanliness, functionality, and safety in a farm environment.

You will inspect, repair, and maintain feeders, waterers, ventilation, and belts; perform preventive maintenance; document work; and follow PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in poultry or agricultural setting.
• Familiarity with conveyor belt systems and related components.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of barn equipment.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and implement timely solutions to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life.
• Inspect conveyor belt systems for proper alignment and tension.
• Clean and sanitize barn areas and conveyor belt components to ensure hygiene.
• Lubricate moving parts and bearings to reduce wear.
• Replace worn conveyor belt parts such as rollers and pulleys.
• Document repairs with date, time, and actions.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE, including lockout/tagout procedures.
• Participate in safety training and promote safety culture.
