Job summary

YKTA is seeking a Conveyance Manager in Alabama to optimize material flow throughout the plant within a JIT framework. You will design efficient delivery routes and guide installations to achieve zero downtime for material supply, while also leading shipping and receiving operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 4 years of equivalent work experience or training.
• Proficient computer and software skills.
• 3 plus years supervisory experience in a production environment, preferably in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of self and others by following all Safety Policies/Procedures and wearing all required PPE.
• Support production to evaluate customer needs by reviewing their current processes and material flow.
• Conduct surveys to gather hard data, including process time studies and space measurements.
• Utilize industry experience to design material handling and delivery systems, specifying equipment and layouts.
• Evaluate automated solutions and partner with automation vendors to provide priced solutions to meet system specifications.
• Generate and support A3 and Kaizen activity for improvements within the Conveyance department.
• Lead Project Management for cart and tugger design.
• Work with vendors to verify solutions meet cost and specification goals.
• Create material flow designs that support mixed loading and efficient transfers.
• Acquire quotations and place purchase orders for conveyance equipment.
