Job summary

Y-Tec Keylex Toyotetsu Alabama in Madison, AL is seeking a Production Planning Supervisor to assist the manager in developing and managing overall production planning, aiming to improve customer service, delivery, utilization, material control, and purchasing.

Summary / Objective

Assist the manager to develop and manage the overall production planning activities for the plant maximizing customer service, delivery, production utilization, material control, inventory control, and purchasing.

Essential Functions (but are not limited to):

• Ensures safety of self and others by following all Safety Policies/Procedures and wearing all required PPE.
• Manage inventory levels including establishing goals, rotating stock, managing purchasing & supply base & developing methods and procedures.
• Develop long-range planning initiatives for production control group, which include continuously evaluating the plant’s needs, capacities, capital, expenses, etc. to meet the growth goals.
• Establish effective communication with various groups such as customers, business development etc. to ensure on-time delivery of products and team support.
• Minimize interruptions to production schedules through effective parts and materials procurement practices.
• Assist in planning the operating budget for all areas of accountability.
• Provide training & development opportunities for members of the Conveyance team as required to sharpen the team’s performance skills presently and in the future.
• Work on maintaining and developing network system, which allows access to the plant’s manufacturing systems to streamline information, and generate reports
• Regular attendance is required.

Must be flexible to work in all areas and in your department regardless of duties listed above in order to accomplish YKTA Goals and objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is a related field or 4 years of equivalent work experience or training.
• Proficient computer and software skills.
• 2-3 years supervisory experience in a production environment, preferably in the automotive industry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of plant logistics and inventory control/ flow processes is preferred

Environment

Work is conducted in an industrial office/ plant setting.

Frequent movement throughout an industrial plant environment being exposed to high noise levels and equipment normally used in stamping / welding/ Ecoat environments.

Physical Demands

• Able to lift up to 33lbs.
• Prolonged periods of standing on the plant floor
• Ability to safely operate PIT equipment.
• Able to traverse the plant facility.
