Job description

Job Summary

Operations Support: responsible for controlling freight forwarding shipments into and out of the station across various modes of transportation based on customer requests. The primary focus is providing high‑level operations excellence and a quality customer service experience to all customers.

Responsibilities
  • Tracking and tracing outbound shipments
  • Inspecting inbound/outbound freight
  • Handling customer service calls and delivering excellent customer service
  • Coordinating recovery and delivery schedules with various cartage agents
  • Contracting new carriers and assigning carriers, providing load tenders
  • Preparing paperwork for routing, closing out files, and sending documentation on time
  • Communicating freight status and problems to other stations and customers, updating the system
  • Coordinating pick‑ups for customers
  • Adhering to TSA/KSMS and other regulatory compliance standards for booking and routing
  • Data entry of shipments into transportation management system
  • Quoting, costing and invoicing of international shipments (air, ocean, ground)
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills & Competencies
  • Multi‑tasking while maintaining precise attention to detail
  • Negotiation abilities and ability to close independently from management oversight
  • Financial acumen and experience with invoicing and payables
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Typing speed of 35+ words per minute
  • Ability to work in a demanding, high‑volume environment especially with email and calls

Experience
