Job summary

United Center in Chicago is seeking a part-time Conversion Crew Member to support rapid event-to-event transitions across sports, concerts and family shows. You will help convert the arena from one setup to another, assist the Zamboni team with ice making and painting, and contribute to seating repairs and stage work.

The role requires physical effort, ability to lift 50+ pounds, and flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays. Join a dynamic venue that hosts NBA, NHL and major events.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in converting the Arena from one event to the next (e.g., concert to circus, basketball to hockey).
  • Assist Zamboni department with ice making and ice painting tasks.
  • Assist with seating repairs, stage building, handrails and dasher system.
  • Maintain and clean equipment.
  • Adhere to scheduling that may include nights, weekends and holidays.

Home to the Chicago Bulls (NBA) and Chicago Blackhawks (NHL), we've welcomed over 70 million fans and host more than 200 events annually, from premier sporting events and concerts to family shows and special industry events. In the role as the Conversion Crew Member (Part-Time), you will help our team bring the next round of stories to life on the United Center campus.

Specific Duties:

(Other duties may be assigned)

  • Assist in converting the Arena from one event to the next
    • Event to Event (concerts, circus, ice shows, etc.)
    • Basketball to Hockey (vice versa)
  • Assist Zamboni department with all related duties:
    • making ice
    • painting ice
  • Assist with Arena seating repairs, stage building, handrail and dasher system
  • Maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  • Scheduling flexibility. Schedule may include, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

The pay range for this role is $100-200 per event. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
