Successful candidates bring 2–5 years of catering/conference services management, experience handling large multi-day events, and proficiency in Word/Excel; sales experience a plus.

Convention Services Manager

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking aConvention Services Manager.In this role, you’ll service assigned groups and special events, preparing both types for successful event execution. You will also work closely with event planners by planning the details of their agenda, room setup up and menu design.

Additionally, you’ll handle bookings for one-day events, as well as prospect for certain social events. You will have the opportunity to optimize revenue goals by suggesting menu enhancements and other resort amenities that align with clients’ needs.

As part of our leadership team,you’llembody our Promise toLead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences.You’llenhance the guest and associate experience by coordinating every detail of group events to ensure they run seamlessly, creating a smooth, stress-free environment for attendees and staff. You’ll also serve as the central liaison between clients, resort departments, and vendors, to help deliver memorable events while supporting associates with clear communication and organized execution.

WhatWe’reLooking For

• Previous experience in a hotel/resort with an event space of at least 20,000 sq. Ft., and heavy group volume is required.
• 2-5 years of catering manager/conference services manager or similar event planning experience.
• Experience detailing & managing large (1000+ people), complex, multi-day events with many moving parts.
• Experience negotiating changes in complex programs.
• Skilled multi-tasker.
• Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Sales experience to up-sell food, beverage, and meeting room services is preferred.
