Responsibilities Job Summary: As a Convenience Store Manager, you'll be responsible for oversight of total convenience or "curb to curb" operations, including food service and car wash. The goal is that your process and product knowledge, planning, organization, and controlling all areas will maximize financial goals and profitability, while you get to know our Customers, and treat them to excellent service. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Management: Spends the majority of time using independent judgment making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions, including product- and department-related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or otherwise engaging in resolving Partner-related matters Oversees total Store operations, including providing a safe work environment, hiring, training, supervising, retaining, developing and performance appraisals; customer service; ordering, display rotation, controlling shrink, product quality, sanitation, inventory control, work scheduling; receiving, pricing, stocking, and signing of merchandise; and financial results Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Store Positively impacts Partner morale Monitors Store budget and payroll, including product, labor, and expenses Reviews and approves all daily / weekly / monthly paperwork for C-Store transactions (e.g., cash over / shorts, car wash, gasoline drive-offs, overrides / refunds, lottery / money order transactions, EBT) Ensures compliance with / execution of H-E-B Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); holds Partners accountable for SOP compliance May perform Representative / Specialist duties Sales: Develops / leads a team to provide customer service at the highest level in all areas Ensures accurate forecasting of holidays and competitive activity to maximize sales Executes merchandising programs and promotes services / products to maximize sales, including ensuring pricing integrity Achieves financial sales and profit goals; reviews projections / forecasts, controlling inventory, managing and reducing food costs, ensuring the accuracy of invoices and cash control, reducing supply usage, and managing shrink, addresses performance opportunities and budget discrepancies, communicating sales goals to Partners Promotes company initiatives and vendor-related marketing by building relationships, and using coupons, signage, and merchandising Ensures highest level of quality and presentation in products and services Ensures availability of seasonal items Builds relationships with customers and vendors; builds customer service through Partners Food Safety / Sanitation: Ensures compliance with all government regulations and company policy and standards for product freshness, safety, and sanitation Maintains and troubleshoots safety / sanitation of equipment and Store; escalates issues as necessary Maintains sanitation standards throughout the work area The responsibilities and essential functions outlined above describe the general nature and level of work assigned to this position.
