Job summary

Applegreen Group in South Carolina seeks a seasoned Convenience Store General Manager to lead daily store operations, manage staff, and drive profitability. This salaried, exempt role reports to the District Manager and requires strong leadership, customer service, and financial acumen.

You will oversee inventory, scheduling, and reporting, ensure store standards, and collaborate with regional managers on advertising and hiring strategies. Flexibility for varied hours is expected.

Qualifications

• MUST be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership and management skills with ability to motivate staff.
• Experience working to targets, KPI's and measurements.
• Understanding of P&L and financials.
• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude.
• Flexible and open schedule.
• Customer service experience required.
• Retail management experience highly preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Teams, Excel and Outlook.
• Frequent standing for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff and daily store operations to ensure profitability.
• Organize staffing schedules, interviews, and training.
• Review daily sales reports and cash receipts; ensure secure deposits.
• Maintain store standards in housekeeping, merchandising, presentation and service.
• Hold regular meetings with staff to execute plans.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues to build loyalty.
• Verify inventory via spot counts and data accuracy.
• Collaborate with regional managers on cost-effective advertising and hiring.
• Keep store clean and inviting at all times.
• Aim for Gross Profit Margin, Net Margin and Sales targets with District Managers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
