Job summary

Barnwell County is seeking an Attendant to provide guidance to the public, maintain sites and records, open/close facilities, inspect equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and operate various machinery. Applicants must have good communication skills and a valid SC driver's license.

This full-time role reports to the Solid Waste Manager and requires attention to safety, environmental compliance, and efficient daily operations across county recycling sites.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills are required.
• A valid South Carolina driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and assistance to the general public.
• Maintain the recycling sites and accuracy of records.
• Open and close the sites and perform opening/closing procedures.
• Inspect equipment and perform preventative maintenance duties.
• Operate various equipment and machinery.
• Ensure recyclable materials go into the correct containers.

Job description

Under general supervision, attendants will be responsible for providing guidance and assistance to the general public as needed; maintaining the sites; maintaining accurate records; opening and closing the sites; inspecting equipment and performing preventative maintenance duties; operating various equipment and machinery; assuring that all recycle material is put into proper containers, etc. Attendant will report directly to the Solid Waste Manager. Applicants must have good communication skills and must posses a valid SC driver's license.
