Job summary

Beaufort County is seeking a worker to assist the public with disposal of solid waste, coordinate with the waste contractor, and keep the site clean for staff and visitors. The role works under close supervision and follows established procedures.

Essential duties include opening/closing the site, helping customers with disposal, maintaining site cleanliness, and reporting hazards or violations. A short demonstration of up to one month of related experience is required.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or GED equivalent.
• Short demonstration up to 1 month of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Opens and closes the site, removes litter, answers phones, fills containers and prepares daily reports.
• Checks vehicles for solid waste decals and assists customers with disposal and recycling.
• Maintains cleanliness of the site.
• Notifies supervisor of activities, violations and hazards.
• Assists citizens as needed.
• Performs related work as assigned.
