Job summary

Caterpillar’s Earthmoving Division is hiring for a Test and Validation Engineer in Washington, IL, with duties validating advanced technology features across Earthmoving lines. This 2nd shift role at the Peoria Proving Ground centers on ensuring product quality through testing, validation planning, and cross‑functional collaboration.

You will work onsite five days a week with a 7% shift premium and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

Degree in engineering or related field required and strong communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects efficiently.
Experience troubleshooting in manufacturing or product development environments.
Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

Direct communication with internal customers to gather validation requirements.
Develop validation methods and improve testing procedures for reliability and cost‑effectiveness.
Document issues detected during validation and communicate with stakeholders.
Manage validation deliverables and ensure milestones are met on time.
Resolve design issues to support manufacturing readiness.
Adopt new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and quality.
Monitor results, machine capabilities, and performance reliability.
Requires a degree in an accredited engineering curriculum or equivalent experience.
