Job description

Sub‑Zero, Wolf, and Cove—the leading manufacturer of luxury kitchen appliances is a family‑owned company known for craftsmanship, innovation, and integrity. Our products are found in the world’s most luxurious homes, and behind them are teams of people who live our values every day. At our Cedar Rapids facility, we’re building something special—a culture rooted in safety, excellence, and ownership. We do what’s right, take pride in our work, and continuously seek to improve. We win together through teamwork, accountability, and a passion for results. And we bring the energy—showing up with a positive mindset and a commitment to creating a workplace where people feel valued and motivated.

This hands‑on role is a key player in starting up our state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility. You’ll commission new equipment and test systems, solve problems on the floor, and over time lead continuous improvement projects that elevate safety, quality, and throughput.

Primary Planning and Start Up Responsibilities
  • Commission and validate functional test equipment, PLC controlled stations, and supporting instrumentation as new lines come online; debug issues end to end (electrical, software, fixtures, sensors, I/O).
  • Partner with Controls and Test Engineering to install, bring up, and optimize equipment for start up readiness; document changes and results.
  • Train operators and technical staff on safe operation, basic troubleshooting, and escalation paths.
Primary Ongoing Production Responsibilities
  • Respond on the floor to equipment/test failures; perform root cause analysis, contain issues, and restore operation quickly.
  • Execute minor PLC/HMI adjustments under engineering guidance; maintain configurations, backups, and change logs.
  • Monitor test station performance, yields, and false fail rates; surface trends and propose countermeasures.
  • Implement hardware/software improvements that enhance safety, throughput, test coverage, and reliability (e.g., sensor upgrades, fixture refinements, vision checks).
  • Develop and refine PM, calibration, and verification procedures; keep stations audit ready with clear documentation and labeling.
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners on line layout, error proofing, and standardized work improvements.

Work Schedule & Environment: Day shift with flexibility during commissioning milestones. Primary work is on the production floor—not behind a desk.

We value our employees by providing:

  • Competitive compensation based on skills
  • Industry leading health, dental, and vision plans
  • Generous 401 (K) savings and profit sharing
  • On‑site UW Health clinic, fitness center, and walking paths
  • Education assistance and internal training programs
  • Electric vehicle charging
  • Maternity & paternity leave

This position requires a pre‑employment drug/alcohol test and background check, which will be administered after a conditional job offer is extended.
