Job summary

Mars Petcare in Columbus, OH is seeking a Shift Controls Technician responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and motor control systems. The role combines office-based duties with occasional plant-floor visits to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent education.
• 3+ years’ experience in electrical systems, controls and/or automation.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and motor control systems
• Able to read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, basic repairs, troubleshooting, inspections, calibration, modifications and upgrades on electrical and controls equipment including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and motor control systems
• Support the installation and setup of new control systems and automation equipment
• Identify and resolve minor faults in control systems and recommend continuous improvements
• Maintaining inventory of tools, parts, and supplies needed for control system maintenance
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols when servicing control systems and electrical equipment
• Any ad hoc requests
