Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Controls Technician in Byesville, OH to troubleshoot and maintain PLC-controlled automated equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will diagnose issues, support electrical and automation systems, and contribute to continuous improvement to maximize uptime.

The role requires hands-on experience with PLCs, HMI, VFDs, and CMMS, with collaboration across maintenance, engineering, and operations to ensure safe, compliant production.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on PLC troubleshooting experience on automated production lines.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and apply industrial electrical troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience with ladder logic, HMI systems, and industrial automation controls.
• Familiarity with VFDs, servo motors, and motor control concepts.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair PLC-controlled equipment to ensure reliable operation of automated production lines.
• Perform PLC troubleshooting on Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms, reviewing ladder logic, fault codes, and alarms to find root causes.
• Support PLC and HMI programming to optimize machine performance and implement control changes.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics, including control panels, sensors, motors, and power distribution.
