Job summary

FITS LLC is seeking an Automation Technician to support IT area automation services on the island and in the US. The role requires hands-on control systems maintenance, familiarity with cGMP, and experience with PLCs, SCADA, and CMMS tools.

You will work in a 12-hour shift, collaborate with vendors, and contribute to process improvements while ensuring compliance with EHS and site security standards. Bilingual Spanish/English is essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Electromechanical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with hands-on control/automation tech experience
Strong knowledge of cGMP, FDA/EMA regulations, and 21 CFR Part 1
Bilingual Spanish and English (verbal/written)
Shift: 12-hour rotations (5:00 AM – 5:30 PM) as needed
Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell platforms, DeltaV, FactoryTalk, SCADA/DCS/BAS, basic networking or databases, and CMMS (Maximo)

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facilities, utilities, and automated equipment including PLCs, ladder logic, drives, and motion systems
Provide technical support during installation, configuration, integration, troubleshooting, qualification, and upgrade of computerized systems in Manufacturing and Utilities
Maintain software for automated facilities and assist CMMS spare parts/maintenance planning
Write and review SOPs and work instructions for automated equipment
Participate in automation and process improvement projects
Collaborate with hardware/software vendors to resolve issues
Comply with cGMP, EHS, and site security requirements
