Job summary

TRYG Group LLC in Lakewood, CO, seeks a Controls Technician - HVAC to design, program, and commission building automation projects. You will work on DDC controllers, Niagara Framework interfaces, and coordinate with Project Managers and Field Technicians to meet contract obligations.

The role requires 2+ years’ BAS/HVAC experience, knowledge of building automation systems, and HVAC service background. Travel regionally; valid driver''s license and IT skills are expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on BAS/HVAC controls experience.
• Experience with building automation systems and HVAC equipment in a commercial environment.
• HVAC service experience.
• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field; 2 or 4 year degree desired.
• Niagara Framework knowledge; certification is a plus.
• Experience with BACnet, Lonworks, Modbus protocols.
• Strong computer skills and IT fundamentals.
• Valid driver''s license and insurable driving record.
• Travel based on job and customer needs; regional travel typically.

Responsibilities

• Under minimal supervision, complete assigned projects, programming, and commissioning and project turnover per contract obligations.
• Develop program instructions for DDC controllers and front-end UI on projects with Project Managers and Field Technicians.
• Programming includes setup of user interface and browser-based systems using Niagara Framework.
• Assist with system troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Assist in commissioning documentation and redlines for as-built drawings.
• Provide customer or end-user training on system operation.
• Report problems or changes to supervisor or management.
• Pursue self-study to gain technical proficiency on products and applications.

Controls Technician - HVAC | $36.00 - $45.00 per hour, depending on experience
Work Hours: Monday through Friday | 7:00am to 4:00 pm

What You Will Be Doing

• Under minimal supervision, complete assigned projects, programming, and commissioning and project turnover per contract obligations.
• Utilize programming tools, standards and procedures, and their knowledge of building systems and applications to develop program instructions for DDC controllers and front-end user interface on projects and will work alongside Project Managers and Field Technicians assigned to a project to fulfill the project requirements
• Programming will include the setup of user interface and/or browser-based systems using the Niagara Framework
• Assist with solutions to systems problems, either troubleshooting the system or advise others on how to resolve problems
• Assist in performing required commissioning documentation
• Provide accurate information for closeout documents including redlines for as-built drawings
• Provide customer or end-user training on system operation
• Report problems or changes to supervisor or management
• Perform self-study (reading, research, and practice) to obtain technical proficiency on required products and application

What We Are Looking For

• 2 + years of hands-on BAS/HVAC controls experience
• Experience with building automation systems, troubleshooting, and working with HVAC equipment in a commercial environment
• HVAC service experience
• Degree (2 of 4 year) in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field - Desired
• Experience with Tridium Niagara Framework (Java/HTML). Niagara AX/N4 certification is a plus
• Experience with communications protocols used in the industry including BACnet, Lonworks and Modbus
• Strong computer skills, and networking/ IT fundamentals
• Travel based on job and customer needs - Travel is typically regional
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
