What You’ll Do
  • Installs, terminates, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical and controls equipment and instrumentation utilizing technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
  • Working with electronic control systems including microprocessors, sensors, and final control elements used in automated processes.
  • Supporting controls engineering and facilities groups in troubleshooting, upgrading, and new installation of systems.
  • Understands the principles of measuring levels, pressures, temperatures, flow, and analytical processes using instrumentation.
  • Consulting manuals, reading and interpreting circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Adjusting system components or removing and replacing defective parts, installing control and measurement instruments on existing or new plant equipment, using lifts and ladders.
  • Uses complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problems.
What You’ll Bring
  • 3-5 years of experience on process automation and/or electromechanical systems. Ability to perform skilled termination of controls devices.
  • Working knowledge of low voltage electrical systems from 24VDC to 480VAC.
  • Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&ID drawings. Ability to read and interpret electrical prints and schematics. Ability to read and interpret PLC code and HMI screens.
  • Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft. Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
  • Strong knowledge in troubleshooting of motor controls, variable frequency drives, programmable controllers, and other electronic components.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and process instrumentation (pressure, level, differential pressure, temperature, and analytical). Strong understanding of controls valves, dampers, and associated actuators.
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal.
