Job summary

Multimatic Indiana - New Haven in Fort Wayne, IN, is seeking a Controls Technician for the 2nd shift to drive automation and maintain equipment. The role focuses on PLCs and robotics to optimize production and support preventative maintenance.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of related experience in automotive manufacturing, with hands-on knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, and experience with robotics.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2 years’ electrical training or journeyman experience, or 3–5 years in automotive manufacturing.
• Experience with industrial automation and robotics is required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls, drives, and robot paths.
• Interface with equipment using laptops and software to communicate and diagnose.
• Make programming changes to PLC, HMI, and robots.
• Assist in machine repair, changeover, and setup as required.
• Perform preventative maintenance per schedule.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and support production as needed.
• Communicate professionally with all levels of staff.
