Job summary

SR2 | Socially Responsible Recruitment | Certified B Corporation™ in Chantilly, VA is seeking an HVAC/BMS controls specialist to support data center and critical infrastructure projects. The role focuses on controls upgrades, troubleshooting, and commissioning in high-performance environments.

You will work hands-on with live systems, develop and modify control logic, and support startup, validation, and on-call duties, with travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

A leading building automation and controls integrator is expanding its team in Chantilly, VA to support a growing portfolio of data center and critical infrastructure projects.

About the Role

This role focuses on controls upgrades, troubleshooting, and commissioning support across complex BMS and EPMS systems, working in high-performance environments where reliability and uptime are critical. If you enjoy hands-on problem solving, working with live systems, and supporting commissioning in fast-paced projects, this is a strong opportunity to take on technically challenging work.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and resolving complex BMS and EPMS system issues
• Supporting controls upgrades and system improvements
• Working alongside project teams during commissioning and functional testing

Required Skills

• Experience with BMS, BAS, or HVAC systems

• Experience with HVAC controls, PLC programming, HMI/SCADA platforms, or building automation systems
• Understanding of control logic and sequences of operation
• Experience supporting commissioning, startup, or field troubleshooting
• Exposure to platforms such as Ignition, Niagara, Rockwell, Siemens, or Schneider is beneficial.

Pay range and compensation package

Pay range from $35/hr - $50/hr

Note: This role includes up to 50% travel.
