They are looking for an experienced BMS/EPMS Controls Technician to join their Building Automation team, responsible for installation, checkout, start-up, testing and commissioning of BMS/EPMS.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience; 3+ years in automation, controls, or related field accepted.
• Experience with BMS, BAS, DDC, EPMS or building automation systems.
• Familiarity with BACnet and/or Modbus protocols is highly desirable.
• Ability to work with third-party systems integration and meet high standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform checkout, start-up, testing and troubleshooting of BMS DDC controllers in data centres.
• Perform checkout, start-up and testing of EPMS graphics and monitoring systems.
• Complete BMS/EPMS commissioning activities including IST.
• Work with customers and commissioning agents throughout testing and commissioning.
• Document progress and maintain close-out documentation; follow MOP and Change Management processes.
• Provide high level of customer service to stakeholders; travel to project sites across the US.

We are looking for an experienced BMS/EPMS Controls Technician to join their growing Building Automation team. You will be responsible for the installation, checkout, start-up, testing, commissioning, and ongoing service of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform checkout, start-up, testing, and troubleshooting of BMS DDC controllers serving a wide range of mechanical systems within data centres and other critical environments.


• Perform checkout, start-up, and testing of EPMS graphics and monitoring systems supporting complex electrical infrastructure.


• Complete BMS commissioning activities, including Pre-Functional, Functional, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).


• Complete EPMS commissioning activities, including Pre-Functional, Functional, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).


• Work independently and alongside third-party/customer commissioning agents throughout testing and commissioning activities.


• Communicate regularly with Project Leads and Project Managers, providing daily project updates and status reports.


• Coordinate directly with customers, contractors, and other project stakeholders in a professional manner.


• Document project progress and contribute to accurate project close-out documentation.


• Develop and follow detailed Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation and Change Management processes.


• Perform preventative maintenance and service activities on existing BMS and EPMS systems within live data centre environments.


• Support multiple concurrent projects across the United States.


• Work within high-security environments while following all customer security policies and procedures.


• Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

What We're Looking For:

• Two-year technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent relevant experience; alternatively, 3+ years of experience within automation, controls, or a related field.


• Experience working with BMS, BAS, DDC, EPMS, or building automation systems.


• Experience with BACnet and/or Modbus protocols is highly desirable.


• Experience with third-party systems integration is preferred.


• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.


• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


• Good understanding of computer operating systems and networking.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; experience with Microsoft Project or other project management software is advantageous.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.


• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.


• Professional approach to working with customers, contractors, and project teams.


• Willingness to travel approximately 50% to remote project sites across the US.
