Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Controls Technician for a Detroit-area facility. You will own automation projects, design and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLC and HMI systems, and lead capital projects through commissioning in a large industrial environment.

Detroit, MI (Commutable from: River Rouge, Dearborn, Lincoln Park, Allen Park, Taylor, Melvindale)

Are you a Controls Technician, looking to join a market-leading company where you will take ownership of automation projectsand play a key role in modernising a large industrial facility?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established organization where you will become the automation expert on site, working on a wide range of capital projects whilst receiving further programming training.

This is a great time to join a growing engineering team in a newly created position where you will have the autonomy to make improvements, introduce new technologies and work on exciting automation projects across the operation.

On offer is a varied role where you will design, improve and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems, support major projects from concept through commissioning, and work closely with operations and maintenance teams to improve reliability and performance. Approximately 50% of the role will be spent underground supporting plant operations.

This role would suit a Controls Engineer with Allen Bradley PLC experience, looking for a long-term career with an industry-leading company. Engineers with strong PLC troubleshooting experience who are looking to develop their programming skills will also be considered.

The Role:

• Design, troubleshoot and improve Allen Bradley PLC and HMI control systems
• Lead automation and capital projects through to commissioning
• Support SCADA, drives, instrumentation and network infrastructure
• 1st Shift position with flexibility to support off-shifts when required
• Approximately 50% underground and 50% surface-based work
