Job summary

Cummins Inc. in York, SC is seeking a Controls Tech III for the 3rd shift to design, implement and optimize automation and control systems on the manufacturing floor. You will diagnose complex electrical and control issues, develop PLC/HMI programs, and lead safety and continuous-improvement efforts.

The role requires strong documentation, collaboration with multiple teams, and the ability to drive reliability and performance across equipment and processes.

Qualifications

• Advanced troubleshooting of electrical, controls, PLC, SCADA, motion, instrumentation and automation systems.
• Develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC, HMI and SCADA programs following standards.
• Perform maintenance on control panels, VFDs, servos, sensors and networks.
• Investigate recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety and performance.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, I/O docs and backups.

• Troubleshoot critical control systems to minimize downtime and restore performance quickly.
• Develop and optimize machine programs to improve utilization and process performance.
