Job summary

The Hershey Company’s Lancaster Y&S plant is seeking a Controls Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership for electrical and control systems in a high‑speed manufacturing environment, focusing on diagnostics, corrective actions, and reliable operation of processing and packaging systems.

Collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and vendors, you will plan activities, define root causes, implement improvements, and ensure drawings and software stay current to enhance safety,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
3+ years in operations, engineering, controls, automation, or maintenance.
Experience diagnosing complex equipment or system issues in a manufacturing environment.
Breadth of experience with processing, packaging, controls, and electrical systems.
Ability to coordinate cross-functional technical work and support internal/external partners.

Responsibilities

Lead troubleshooting and optimization of electrical controls, instrumentation, and networks.
Plan, install, maintain, and calibrate activities across manufacturing and utility systems.
Define root causes and implement corrective actions.
Own controls-related projects from planning to startup and implementation.
Support continuous improvement for safety, reliability, and throughput.
Ensure electrical drawings and software are current.
