Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Controls System Engineer to support the AMZL NA Engineering team. You will design, implement, and optimize delivery station controls, including AB PLC/HMI, ignition, and vision systems, while improving processes and ensuring safety and reliability.

You will lead design reviews, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and travel extensively to deliver scalable automation solutions across North America.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of PLC programming experience.
• 3+ years of industrial controls and automation experience.
• 2+ years of PLC/SCADA integration experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 5+ years of professional or military experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel up to 80%.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial network issues at delivery stations.
• Program and maintain Allen Bradley PLC/HMI applications for control system logic and visualization.
• Execute controls integration for new equipment installations and retrofits.
• Develop electrical and controls documentation (wiring diagrams, P&IDs, network drawings).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable automation solutions.
• Review designs and provide input on electrical/controls interfacing requirements.
• Create automated alarms, reports, and KPI dashboards for site leadership.
• Identify process improvements to increase agility and performance.
• Travel up to 80% to delivery station sites across North America.
