Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Controls System Engineer to support the AMZL NA Engineering team within Amazon’s Last Mile organization. The role focuses on designing scalable control systems for delivery stations with AB PLC/HMI, ignition and vision systems to drive continuous improvements and uptime.

You will participate in an agile SDLC, work with field engineers, operations teams and vendors, and travel up to 80% to install, commission and optimize systems across North America, including the Boston site.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of PLC programming experience
• 3+ years of industrial controls and automation experience
• 2+ years of PLC/SCADA integration experience

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA and industrial network issues across delivery station equipment
• Program and maintain Allen Bradley PLC/HMI applications and improve control system logic
• Execute controls integration for new equipment installations and retrofits including commissioning and network validation
• Develop electrical/controls documentation such as wiring diagrams and P&IDs
• Collaborate cross-functionally with field engineering, operations and vendors to deliver scalable automation solutions
• Support design reviews for control systems, simulations, and software development
• Create and maintain automated alarms, reports and KPI dashboards for data-driven decisions
• Identify process improvements to increase agility and system performance
• Ensure compliance with IEC 62061, IEC 13849 and IEC 61508 safety standards
• Travel up to 80% to delivery station sites across North America
