Job summary

Diamond Foundry in San Francisco is seeking a software & systems engineer to develop and troubleshoot applications for our manufacturing line. You will work with a spectrum of equipment to optimize data collection, operator input, and overall system efficiency.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical and process engineers, take ownership of your own projects, and aim to maximize production through data collection, device programming, workflow automation, and interfacing with various

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering (Master's preferred) with 2+ years in software engineering or CS.
• Proficiency in Python; knowledge of C/C++, PLC, TCP/IP, MQTT, IIoT, Modbus, RS232, SCADA, Motion Control.
• Familiarity with data visualization and HMI development; strong communication skills.
• Experience with electrical, software, and/or mechanical systems in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design, upgrade, automate, and troubleshoot systems including inspection tools, CNC lasers, parts handlers, and CVD reactors.
• Translate feature requests into software design; build data-driven models.
• Train technicians and document procedures for maintainability.
• Write technical documentation for equipment design and use.
• Source system components from software vendors when appropriate.
