Job description

Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.

The EHS Generalist will support day-to-day regulatory compliance, hazard controls, and site safety operations. This role focuses on high-risk safety programs—including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, and Respiratory Protection—while auditing, updating, and writing technical EHS documentation to maintain Cal/OSHA compliance. Experience with hazardous waste management preferred.

It is desired to possess the ability to be present/support the night shift or transition in the morning or evenings when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Core Programs: Manage and audit Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, and Respiratory Protection programs (including fit testing and cartridge selection).

  • Document Review & Authoring: Conduct thorough reviews of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and regulatory compliance documentation.

  • Site Inspections: Lead continuous hazard identification walks, compliance audits, and incident investigations across manufacturing and R&D operations.

  • Training & Onboarding: Deliver site-specific EHS training modules to employees and contractors on safety protocols and emergency procedures.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain records to ensure full compliance with local, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and regional environmental regulations.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, occupational health or similar. CSP or CIH (or in the process of obtaining). Training or certifications in DTSC, DOT, RCRA, BAAQMD, CUPA, HazWoper, Emergency Response, First Aid/CPR/AED, etc.

  • Experience: 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, tech-hardware, chemical, or foundry environment.

  • Technical Mastery: Deep hands‑on experience with LOTO procedures, permit‑required confined spaces, and respiratory protection standards.

  • Documentation Skills: Demonstrated strength in reviewing, drafting, and improving EHS policies, JHAs, and SOPs.

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to drive a proactive safety culture across shift teams and site leadership.
