Job summary

Meta is seeking a data center Controls Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our Data Center Facility Operations team. The SME will own BMS reliability, oversee controls upgrades, maintenance, and testing across a global fleet of data centers.

The role requires deep knowledge of control systems, experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and safety in critical environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of controls experience in programming development, startup, and commissioning of complex systems.
• Bachelor’s or trade cert plus 3+ years in controls acceptable in lieu of 7+ years.
• Experience in critical environments and cross-functional collaboration.
• Theoretical and practical understanding of control equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for all Building Management System (BMS) changes and enhancements at the data center.
• Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions across varied systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair controls hardware including controllers, relays, sensors, and actuators.
• Review data to optimize building system efficiency and trends.
• Collaborate with disciplines to modify BMS settings for space management.
• Ensure cross-functional collaboration between local and global teams.
• Oversee vendor management and system configuration upgrades.
• Provide QA/QC oversight of controls scope through commissioning.
• Ensure modifications comply with best practices and change control processes.
• Provide technical controls training and support to Facility Operations staff.
• Collaborate with global controls team on strategies and initiatives.
• Communicate issues and upcoming work with site management.
• Travel during first 6 months for onboarding; occasional travel afterward.
