Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Controls Hardware engineer with strong expertise in DCS/Gas and Steam Turbine and Balance of Plant (BOP) cabinet engineering for Power plant applications. This role will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and technical support of Cabinet design and development, including architecture, internal components, power distribution, and wiring, specifically tailored for DCS/BOP/GT/ST integration with plant control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design and Architecture: Responsible for design of Control Panel, including the overall cabinet layout, internal components, power distribution, and system architecture. Ensure that designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. Select appropriate components (e.g., DCS/GT/ST controller, I/O cards) based on system requirements. Integrate these components to ensure optimal performance and seamless communication across the system.
  • Control Systems Expertise: Utilize in-depth knowledge of control systems (DCS/PLC/GT/ST) to ensure proper integration, configuration, and troubleshooting of control devices within the system.
  • Project Ownership: Plan, assign, and review engineering deliverables to ensure quality and schedule adherence. Individually contribute to full life cycle of a control panel.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the system design aligns with all aspects of the project. Provide technical guidance and support throughout the design, testing, and installation phases.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive system design documents, schematics, and manuals. Ensure that all designs comply with company standards, industry regulations, and customer specifications.
  • Execution and Support: Coordinate with vendors, OEMs, and internal disciplines. Provide technical sales support for generation of customer proposals. Engineering support at assembly and lead during FAT, SAT, commissioning, installation, troubleshooting and modifications.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering, Control or Mechanical Engineering. At least 3 years of experience in designing and integrating control systems, with a focus on DCS/PLC/GT/ST platforms and BOP cabinet systems. Experience in upgrading complex control systems, including managing cabinet system architectures and ensuring minimal system downtime during upgrades.
  • Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of control systems, particularly DCS/PLC platforms.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical systems and their integration into control systems.
  • Experience with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices related to industrial control systems.
  • Familiarity with PLM tools and proficiency with both solid modelling and 2-dimensional CAD tools for system design (e.g., AutoCAD Mechanical & Electrical, Autodesk Inventor).
  • Familiarity with industrial automation standards and safety regulations (e.g., IEC, ISO).
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with various engineering teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel for FAT/SAT or site support when required
