Job summary

Unknown is seeking a Controls Hardware Engineer to join a growing engineering team focused on industrial automation and power generation projects. You will design control cabinets, panels, and hardware systems, and develop electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.

You will also design PLC and DCS hardware architectures, select I/O components, perform heat load and power calculations, and support FAT, design reviews, and field implementation in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering.
• Experience designing industrial control systems hardware and control cabinets.
• Experience with PLC and/or DCS hardware platforms.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations for panel design.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Design control cabinets, panels, and associated hardware systems
• Develop electrical schematics and wiring drawings using AutoCAD Electrical
• Design PLC and DCS hardware architectures
• Select and specify I/O hardware, instrumentation, and electrical components
• Perform engineering calculations, including heat load and power calculations
• Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), design reviews, and field implementation activities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project execution
• Ensure designs comply with customer requirements and applicable industry standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline
• Experience designing industrial control systems hardware and control cabinets
• Experience with PLC and/or DCS hardware platforms
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical
• Ability to perform engineering calculations related to control panel and cabinet design
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and industrial control systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within power generation, utilities, or energy industries
• Experience in industrial manufacturing, paper, food processing, chemical processing, or similar environments
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols including:

• Experience supporting FATs, commissioning, and startup activities
