Job summary

Dematic has an immediate need for an Electrical Controls Engineering Intern/Co-Op in Grand Rapids, MI. Based in Grand Rapids, you will assist senior engineers with routine system design and test activities, and travel 40–50% to customer locations in the USA.

Qualifications

Actively pursuing a BS/BA Under-Grad in Engineering.
Typically up to 0-4 years of related experience.
Demonstrates and applies fundamental knowledge of professional principles and skills.
Experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider) is preferred but not required.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

Assists in the design of routine systems that integrate hardware and software.
Assist lead engineers with project documentation and tasks.
Ability to learn and show proficiency with Dematic systems, e.g., CAD, SAP, Travel, and other applications.
Provides assistance in recommending ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and improvement in customer satisfaction.
Aids in the start-up, commissioning, and testing of material handling systems.
Assist with software PLC emulation and testing of material handling systems.
Ability to locate and follow Standard Work Practices and procedures.
