Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking a Controls Engineer to manage and monitor all control systems for our wire and cable manufacturing facility in Taunton, MA. The role involves developing control logic, maintaining electrical drawings, and leading projects from design through startup to support plant objectives.

You will diagnose and optimize machine control systems, read schematics, and train process engineers and maintenance staff on AC/DC drives and PLCs.

Qualifications

BS/MS - Engineering or related degree.
5-10 years maintaining industrial application software and control systems.
PLC programming; Wonderware is a plus.
Advanced knowledge of motor controls and drives (AC, DC and VFD).
Create/read/edit PID drawings.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain knowledge of wire and cable equipment and processes.
Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
Install, configure, evaluate and maintain operating systems and system management tools.
Develop and de-bug control logic for machine control and implement design modifications.
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Document all control logic work and keep documentation current.
Prepare reports and provide feedback to management to improve operations.
Manage projects including cost estimations, designs, procurement, installation and startup.
Develop and maintain control system and electrical drawings for plant systems.
Analyze electrical schematics to component level for repairs.
