Job Description

If you are an engineering professional looking for an opportunity to learn and grow, we have a great opportunity to join our Water Solutions team as a Controls Engineer based in Pittsburgh, PA or Detroit, MI.

In this role, you will be responsible for project engineering, management, and execution of DCS projects for the domestic water and wastewater industries. Our Power & Water Solutions business is a leading controls automation company focusing on renewable, fossil power generation, and water/wastewater treatment sectors. We aim to upgrade existing plant control systems with industry-leading automation controls and instrumentation to promote sustainability and longevity of the North American power grid and water infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Leading application design and engineering execution for water projects.
  • Developing and tracking project engineering plans to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Estimating and communicating project resource needs proactively.
  • Providing technical leadership and collaborating on customer solutions.
  • Following departmental procedures and supporting quality objectives.
  • Working with customers on technical and commercial levels to develop strong relationships.
  • Collaborating with the Operations Group to track progress and assist with hardware engineering.
  • Monitoring customer satisfaction and delivering top results.
  • Optimizing utilization of global engineering resources.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Monitoring project financials to meet objectives.
  • Building and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Supporting project pursuits, marketing, and lifecycle teams as needed.
  • Participating in domain expert teams.

Who You Are:

You understand the importance of internal customer relationships, define goals, solicit input, and adapt your style to accommodate differences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of automation experience in an engineering environment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship not provided).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience in automation within water/wastewater, power generation, or related industries.
  • Experience with various equipment manufacturers is highly preferred.
