Job summary

HireTalent is seeking a Controls Engineer to own the electrical design for mechanical and hydraulic power stamping presses and the related automation upgrades. You will design and modify HMI programs, build PLC and Safety PLC code, and create panel layouts for on-site implementation.

You will also supervise teams on site, conduct risk assessments, and manage commissioning across PLC, electrical, and mechanical systems. A BS in electrical engineering or equivalent hands-on experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering/Technology (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• Proficient in PLC programming with Rockwell, Mitsubishi or Siemens.
• Experience in electrical hardware design and modification.
• Experience with equipment demolition, installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Design and modify HMI programs (GP-Pro / Proface).
• Build and modify PLC + Safety PLC programs across listed hardware.
• Create hardwire, panel and field device layouts in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Run risk assessments across bid selection, hardware procurement and install timing.

• Build and modify PLC + Safety PLC programs — Studio 5000, RSLinx, IAB, Simatic Step 7 on Allen-Bradley, Yaskawa, Toyopuc and Siemens hardware
• Create hardwire, panel and field device layouts in AutoCAD Electrical
• Run risk assessments across bid selection, hardware procurement and install timing
• Supervise engineers, electricians and millwrights on site, and carry full line commissioning through PLC, electrical and mechanical
