Job summary

Tecknomic in Kentucky is seeking a Controls Engineer responsible for electrical design of mechanical/hydraulic power stamping presses and related automation upgrades.

You will own HMI, PLC, and Safety PLC design; hardwire, panel, and field device layouts; risk assessments; installation supervision; and full line commissioning — verifying designs through customer buyoffs and supervising engineers, electricians, and millwrights during press upgrade installations.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering / technology, technician degree, or equivalent experience.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting across major brands (AB/Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
• Experience with Safety PLC design and HMI design.
• AutoCAD Electrical for hardware, panel, and field layouts.
• Electrical hardware design and modification; equipment demolition and commissioning.
• Ability to travel and work with cross-functional teams; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Electrical design of mechanical/hydraulic power stamping presses and related upgrades.
• HMI design: create, modify, verify HMI programs during buyoffs.
• PLC design: develop PLC programs on multiple hardware platforms.
• Safety PLC design: create and verify Safety PLC programs.
• Hardwire, panel, and field device layouts using IAB and AutoCAD Electrical.
• Provide full line commissioning support and supervise install teams.
