Job summary

EmployBridge seeks a hands-on Controls Engineer to support automation in slitting, blanking, and coil processing operations. You will design, program, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial control systems, partnering with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency.

Responsibilities include programming PLCs, developing HMI applications, diagnosing electrical issues, and supporting upgrades and installations.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with industrial automation systems and industrial networking.
  • Knowledge of servo drives, VFDs, and motion control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Manufacturing experience within metal processing or high-speed production environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based control systems.
  • Develop and support HMI applications.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, and automation issues.
  • Support equipment upgrades, retrofits, and new equipment installations.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to improve uptime and production performance.
  • Maintain machine safety systems and support compliance initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency, throughput, and reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance and production personnel.
