Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing seeks an Automation Engineer to troubleshoot, maintain, and improve highly automated controls, robotic and welding systems at our Spartanburg plant.

You will design and program PLCs, HMIs, and robots, lead in troubleshooting, and drive continuous improvement such as cycle-time reduction and error-proofing while working a 2nd shift (1 PM–9 PM) Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Rockwell software and AB CompactLogix, GuardLogix, PanelView plus platforms.
Electrical knowledge: Install hardware and wiring.
Program and debug of automated robotic welding, sealing, fastening and assembly systems.
Able to program Panel View (HMI) and PLC.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, maintain and improve highly automated controls, robotic and welding systems.
Design and program PLC, HMI, robots and other types of electronic or electrical manufacturing equipment.
Lead in the troubleshooting of malfunctioning equipment.
Drive continuous improvement activities such as cycle time reduction, standardization of existing equipment and incorporation of error proofing strategies.
