Job summary

NukeMed Technologies in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our electrical and controls group. You will design and document industrial control systems for radiopharmaceutical equipment, troubleshoot PLCs and panels, and maintain technical documentation to regulatory standards.

The role requires 5–7 years of experience in a small team, collaborating with electrical technicians, and occasional travel to other company locations to meet objectives. We offer a path toward a Sr.

Qualifications

• Designs control systems for industrial equipment.
• Proficient in creating electrical diagrams, block diagrams and PLC I/O schematics.
• Experience with Rockwell PLC platforms (Micro800/CompactLogix/ControlLogix).
• Familiarity with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL508A and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and document industrial control systems for radiopharmaceutical equipment.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLCs, electrical panels, instrumentation, and control hardware across facilities.
• Develop, review, and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and PLC program revisions.
• Source and size components (motors, fuses, contactors, PLCs, HMIs, cables, pneumatics).
• Build symbol and parts data libraries for new components.
• Program and debug Rockwell Micro800, CompactLogix, and ControlLogix PLCs.
• Coordinate with third-party contractors during installation, commissioning, and startup.
• Ensure work complies with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL508A and safety policies.
• Write test procedures for designed equipment and systems.
• Report project status and present design reviews to leadership.
• Foster safety, accountability, and continuous improvement in the controls team.
