Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Controls Engineer to develop, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC programs across platforms, and to integrate equipment with operations systems. The role includes programming VFDs, developing schematics, building panels, and providing remote on-call support.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in controls engineering, experience with Ignition platforms, and strong problem-solving abilities. Collaboration with project engineers and cross-functional teams is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in controls or related field; experience may substitute.
  • 3–5 years of experience required in controls engineering and manufacturing.
  • Experience with Ignition for data analysis, reporting, and alarm configuration.
  • Electrical troubleshooting across 480V and below; PLCs and network basics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC programs on various platforms.
  • Integrate production equipment into supported operations systems.
  • Program and control VFDs via PLC controls and locally as needed.
  • Develop electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Develop, build and troubleshoot panels.
  • Support locations remotely on an on-call basis.
  • Assist with project management to support Project Engineers.
  • Perform other project tasks as assigned by Management.
